Paranoia?

Okay, I have indulged in a few conspiracy theories in my life, but wondering why someone is visiting a site repeatedly would seem a little out there. There are sites that I visit everyday, and I do not know anyone on the net. Those are the people who post everyday, and do not have kids like myself usually. This means that they they usually have lots of progress to show, and I live through them vicariously. It has been a while since I left a post on anyone's blog, and I don't do it often because I DO NOT KNOW ANYONE. Call me shy, but if I remark on something to someone, and I do not get a response, I am not going to leave another remark. And since it has happened so many times, I figure forget the rude folks. Some people need to get over themselves. I have said my piece, thank you so much, there will be happier times later.

I've been bad, verry, verrrrrry bad........

okay, I fell off of the project spectrum bandwagon. I am doing things all out of sorts, and when I do do something that goes in the guidelines, I rip it out because I don't like it. I tried to knit a hat and sweater from the mission falls book of knitting for kids and I used a different yarn and of course it turned out nothing like what I thought it would. But, I submit that it is not all my fault. The yarn that I used was a silk and wool blend by elsbeth lavold, (I think I butchered that), But the label said that it was for a size 6 needle and before I balled it, I thought that was a good estimate. After though, I knew it was iffy, and after I knit it up, Total Disaster. That yarn is best suited for a size 4 needle. If not smaller. And not only that, but the lady in the shop was right, it seems to have no life to the yarn. It is very limp and not plump. I do not know now what I will use it for considering it cost so much. It was $8 something a ball. Which to some people, is not so much.
In knew news I have been working on a raglan toddler sweater knit from the top down in yellow and grey stripes. I will post more pictures later.

A good hat for a good sport.

My car has been giving me some problems lately, I drive an '89 BMW 525i. I love my car, but lately, it has been acting like it needs a vacation. I have put in a new starter, and it is saying something to me in German that I can't understand. So, I hope my car can fix itself, or something like not need any new repairs for awhile. I am trying to get hired in the public education system, and I am hoping it is going to go well. In the meantime, my ex husband was escorting me to and from work, since he doesn't have a job. He begged me for a new hat all winter, since he has all but worn holes in the old one, but I didn't see a reason to make him one until he drove me around alll week. I thing I may have been unnecessarily harsh to him in not doing something that he asked, when he agreed to drive me around for a week with little to no arguement. So, without further ado, I give you the manos toboggan....

Project Spectrum is ongoing.

Okay, okay, I know that I haven't been that dilligent in my posting this past month, but when I couldn't post pictures, it drove me nuts. I, however have been knitting and as of last night I made a stocking cap in one evening, that's right, ME! I can't believe how much I have grown as a knitter, and all of the blogs I have visited and borrowed ideas from. As a matter of fact, I made my stocking cap on PINK needles, thank you, but it is actually for my Dad, so we won't tell him about the girly aspects, but as I was saying, I borrowed the basic pattern for my hat from almost felted, I will tryto insert a link to her website later, but my baby is sleeping next to my pattern book. I am mostly done on my lace leaf pullover too, except for the sleeves, and sewing together. This pattern flies. All right I can't upload photos again... nevermind.

I have been knitting, I promise, just trust me.

We returned home safely today from the hospital after my daughters' tonsilectomy. Sometimes I am glad I am a pack rat. I did not have to go to the pharmacy because I had the medicine that they prescribed for pain already in the cabinet from an ear infection last fall. I did not get to knit at the hospital the way I thought I would, the whole thing took all of about 40 minutes, surgery and recovery together. I first went to get something to eat. I did not eat this morning because I did not think it would be fair to a two year old that she could not have any of the food in the kitchen. So, I waited 'til the last minute and got her up and gave her a bath and off we went after getting the baby together as well. It did not affect her at all, she was up screaming and yelling and having a good ol' time two hours later. Her appetite increased I think. She had a plate of macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, and some other stuff, and then she had a cheeseburger, and then she had another plate of macaroni and cheese, and sweet potatoes, and asparagus. Believe it or not, the asparagus is always the first thing to be eaten. So, as follows are some gratuitous pics of my babies....or maybe not, for the past two days, I have been having problems uploading my photos to blogger, I don't know why, but for now, no photos I guess.

No Knittin' Content....

Okay, I am going to rant a little bit, the children in my house have been sick for a couple of weeks, just when they were getting over everything, they went to the doctor and picked up another virus from the doctor office. I have been busy, and tomorrow my daughter gets her tonsils taken out. Well, I am a director of a daycare center, and today we had a staff meeting. That means I am at work. I was not home to answer the phone about my daughter's surgery. No, I do not want forty people there, but am I avoiding telling them? No. They accused me in a message left at the house while I was at work of avoiding them. Am I avoiding the whole lot of them.......Seriously thinking about it now....no. But they sure do know how to upset a person though. Okay I feel better. I should have a picture to post tomorrow with my new camera, of the placket sweater from last minute knitted gifts.

Project Spectrum.....

Here I come...with some minor modifications that is. I swatched for the lace leaf pullover, and there is no way it will work. So, I have decided to try another sweater pattern with some other reddish yarn. Okay, I seriously need some help. I can't get this whole button thing to work. Can someone Please help me?

New beginnings...

Have been busy with lots fo things, I knit a sleeve for the baby cardi from Last Minute Knitted Gifts, only to riiiipppp it out because it was slightly different in color. So, I did what any other self respecting knitter would do, I got revenge and made it mad by starting another project. What else? The ever popular jaywalker socks by Grumperina. I am using a fortissima sock yarn that has all of the colors of the rainbow in it. Whenever I find my camera I will take a photo. Talk to you later....

Sweet anticipation...

I have joined the ranks of the knit-a-long cyber-knitters! I have to admit I am kind of proud of myself, I am not really a computer person. This has and still is a great learning experiance for me. Project Spectrum....I actually think I have yarn in almost all of those colors. I went out and bough some wool-ease chunky today in a purpley kind of color today. It was on clearance, so I had a hard time saying no. They are clearancing out a lot of stuff over at Hobby Lobby. Did any one else see the wool put out by Lion Brand? It doesn't feel as soft as their other yarns. I do not know if I will end up getting any or not. It is really hard to get good yarn around here, there is only one yarn stire in town and her business hours are from 10 to 5 and guess what I work? 10 to 6. There is it....no chance. She does not have any Noro as far as I have seen, and I really like the look of the hourglass sweater in last minute knitted gifts. I really do not want to substitute yarn for everything that I knit. Anyhoo, one of my friends had a bead shop here in town, and she just went out of business today, so sad. They did not seem upset about it though. Everything was 50% off by the time I got there. I should have bought more, but i knew I wanted yarn too, so I scrimped by with $21 dollars worth of beads and findings. I always want to join those secret pal things, but getting to the good yarn store is a daunting task, I would feel upset if I could not get a better yarn than what Hobby Lobby sold. I don't want to let anyone down.
As for pictures of my two darlings,(ha, ha), I think I have a couple that I can share....

The dreaded sweater....

Here is the boyfriend/husband sweater in action, and believe me this sweater did not come without it's consequences. Some of the things that happened during this sweater are the reason that my husband and I are separated. I wanted to forgive, but something inside me says no. So, here is part of the demise of my marriage. Sorry about the flash reverb.

another fo........

I guess I don't talk that much about my life, so here goes, I have been gone a lot from work the past two weeks, with two sick children, and so to "earn" my salary, I knit the baby afghan my boss wanted. I didn't have to, but I thought it was a good thought. It will cheer her up a little, and not only that, I missed pay day, and she did not have enough money to pay me my full salary. I will get it I know, but I can't hardly live like this forever. I need to find a work from home job or something. Anyhow, the baby blanket was in acrylic yarn *gasp!* I know, but sometimes it is practical. It is in Simply soft by Caron Yarns, for a boy of course. My kids are better now, and so I will be back at work tomorrow, it should make things a little more relaxed with one less thing on my boss's mind. I will post pictures of my kids later, when there are at 100%, they still look a little tired.

enough....

Sometimes I actually have to wonder if I have a suicide wish, I have so many things to do, on top of going to work and being a Mom. I would like to finish my angelina, but it is taking so long, I have been working on it FOREVER...maybe this is why I have not seen a finished one on the internet yet. Anyhow, I finished a baby quilt, and I am also working on a scarf for a guy, that has cables. It is for a friend that does not have a heater in his vehicle. Sorry, no pictures yet, and I really am going to have to figure out what the deal is with my camera. All the pictures keep getting fuzzier and fuzzier. I think my picture card is getting worn out or something. Oh well, I am going to get a new camera soon. If anyone has finished the Angelina, I would love to see some photos for inspiration.....

Progress....

My DD has ben sick and so I have been knitting by her side during the night. I am a much slower knitter than most of the ones I have seen in cyberspace, and so if it doesn't look like much, sorry. This is 4 hours worth of knitting for me, and I am halfway done with the length of the body of the sweater. It is the sweater from last minute knitted gifts I am knitting the size 2-4 sweater in lion brand cotton ease using the stich counts for the size 1-2 yr olds. AS it turned out the yarn was much bigger than I anticipated, but it might be perfect after all. I forget my kids are growing up.....
