warm feet coming up, and heads

oh yeah, by the way, I knitted another cabled hat for Rick, it was in Blue Alpaca this time, from Bernat, and then I am currently working on a hat for a coworker named Randa. Also tonight I am going to use my knitting machine to make a baby afghan for a coworker, Christina, she is due next month, but when asked what she needed, she stated that she could use real baby blankets, problem solved, since so many of us knit and crochet at work. Can't wait to post a piture of that as well.

Slippers, violet not ruby

ok so I made slippers for my little sister for Christmas or so I thought, they are not going to fit, I am upset, I am going to have to sit down and knit another pair and I have to make sure that they will fit and be dry by Christmas, UURGG! Darn that cute pattern! I was sucked in and did not even try to be smart, and knit early or test knit! I paid $7.00 for you and you suck, its so disappointing.....

New Book!

I am now the proud owner of the GlamKnits book by Stefanie Japel, super awesome Jean bought it for me for Christmas! We did a cookie swap the other night at knitting as well and it was a blast, we had so much fun and the goodies were great, I am going to have to put my new recipies into play soon. I think that I am going to make a pair of earrings for Jean for Christmas, hopefully she won't read my blog tonight, lol. Not quite done with my slippers for Lindsey, I made heat sacks for much of my family, and I got some easy necklace closures for my grandmother, if she will use them. I know that no one likes to get older but sometimes we need a bit of help. Kay made me some really nice earring as well and I wore them with my sweater last night. Also I think that I am going to try to creat a post with just the information from my Knit in Chunks sweater and post my chart and the modifications that I made just in case anyone would like to make one like mine without frustration.

wor k a hol ic

ok, pic of some non knitting pleasure for my stepmother, it is a drawing of a train wreck in mid 1800's, it was the first insurance payout of Northwestern Mutual Insurance...

And here is some knitting pleasure, even though part of it is not for me...

The shawl is also for my stepmother, and the hat may be for me, apparently I love hats, and I would love to make myself some matching mittens, oh yeah, I have enough yarn to do that! But wait! Christmas is coming near and I need to make gifts for everyone else, I am making slippers for my sister, they are adorable and the pattern better turn out is all I can say because it cost me 7 friggin dollars...I have started already with a Tweed yarn, purple is the base color and then it has the red and yellow green and blue flecks of color all over...light gray purple is the only color I guess you could call it I suppose. Will post after I make them on here, won't be able to post on Ravelry since my little sister looks on there. hahaha

Booty

I made some baby booties for a friend the other day. She had no idea that they were going to be for her and when she eremarked on them I thought it was funny but said nothing about it until I gave them to her. The look on her face was priceless. I got the pattern off of Ravelry and they are called Grey Baby Booties.

Gavin Sweater

Sophisticated baby, sophisticated sweater, no I have no idea, I met him once and he was totally zonked out. Sweater is from www.naturallycaron.com, and is in size 18 months. The yarn that I used was Lionbrand Wool-ease, in a shade that I think is discontinued, but I don't know for sure...I have so many things to work on and so little time, Christmas is coming up and I have to get on it! Ugh.

Oh yeah and I am currentyl working on a toddler sweater for a co-worker, and then I have a doggy sweater to make and a hat for my step-mom...so much to do and so little time. OOOhhh ans booties and baby hats, can't forget those, I was thinking of making them and selling them. Itmight be helpful for making some extra money.

Ok, I have the footy stuff I have been working on...Dad's socks, my first whole knitted pair, and the slippers that we made at the church in Carthage, as part of a knit-a-long. I am part of another knit-a-long for my local knitting group, and we are making boas, and going to go out when ever we get done with them.

busy bisie byze

Oh yeah, I have recently finished dads socks, my colorful coat, and the slippers are felted, and the skirt that I started last week, and a pair of fingerless mitts, and oh man, it just keeps going...I have been sidetracked a little lately, a family member passed away...Josh. Strange, we used to share so much time together when we were younger, and then all of a sudden you grow up and have different opinions and wham, life. 32 and gone. There are so many questions, and few answers, I wish I knew, but I don't think that would bring comfort or solace. But then maybe my mind would rest and I could sleep. Pics later

Finishitis?

Ok, I have been working and I have a few pics to show you if you would like to see them, Fist for Angie, I have the babay sweater done and I don't have enough yarn to make another sweater like this one, the yarn was discontinued...so maybe I will make a hat and booties?

Next I have been working on two different sweaters...

I have another sweater that has been a work in progress as well to finish and all I have left on it is the front band and collar.

And believe it or not, there is more, I just will have to show them later, lol.

Things I am Working on...

Ok. I need a list, sometimes people need lists to remind them of what the heck they are doing...
1. Dad's socks.
2. Color Hourglass sweater.
3. Angie's baby sweaters, hopefully you don't read my blog, lol.
4. J.R.'s baby sweater.
5. Felted Fuzzy Feet from Knitty.
6. Socks for me.
7. Sweater for Myer.
8. Cable sweater for me.
Wow, I look really selfish in the list, haha.
I don't want the fuzzy feet slippers....it was fun to join in with everyone else though on something. And maybe our Thursday night girls can do a knit alongwith a certain type of washcloth, lol. It seems to be the thing growing in popularity among the group.

knitting group

Ok, so we have knitting group every Thursday, and only Jean showed up, we still had a good time, but it seems as though it isn't worth the effort of trying to get everyone together if they all decide at the last minute to do something else. Maybe next week we will have a better turnout. Oh and I would have knitting group on Monday but I will be on my way to Florida. Hehehe.

White winter

Ok, I totally finished Nicole's hat the other day and I did not post it, I am not sure why....but I am showing it now...it is much the same as the other hat that I made, but this one was on size 13 needles, and instead of it being the Jiffy Bulky, it is Wool-Ease Bulky...so I changed the stiches a bit, cast on 56,(14 on 4dpns each) you will need a set of 5 dpns, for this and it starts 2 inches of garter stitch, and then 2 inches of stockinette, ad then start the decreases, I did these a bit differently since my Nicole wears a ponytail almost every other day.

Oh no way!

Ok so I had this cool post put together and blogger totally wiped it! UUuhhhGGG! So here is a hat I made for Tavis' Dad, I am starting to think that my Dad may want one as well, and he has a birthday coming up in March, and so does my big brother, I will have to find out what they want...Dad says he wants socks, but we will see..lol. And I made a baby sweater and some booties for my daughters kindergarten teacher, she is wonderful, the best thing since sliced bread, she does not give up on my daughter. I love her strength and caring. She will be a great Mom.

Up to no good, wait that's not what I meant

Ok, So I have been a bit busy, I made another cabled hat, this one is for Tavis' Dad, I am starting to think that my Dad may want one as well. His brirthday is coming up in March. And so is my big brothers. I will need to find out what he would like. You know I knit another black hat just like the one I made for my Dad and my son wanted it, wore it one time to daycare, and boom, gone, I think that's hat number 5 that was stolen. It really sucks that people would steal from a child and never bring it back. Oh sorry, I guess I'm venting, back to the matter at hand. My daughters kindergarten teacher is pregnant and due any day, which would be early, and she is awesome for my daughter, she has done so much I don't know what we would have done without her. So, I made her a baby sweater, it was from Debbie Bliss' Beginner Baby Knits....I LOVE the way the yarn created this strange argyle pattern, totally cool!!!

stripey

OK I have been working on my scrap sweater and I am almost done, however here lately I have also been working on a sweater for my dughters kindergarten teacher. She is about to have a little boy. They are so cute and I love sweaters on little babies, especially when you made it! Here is the progress I last took a pic of, it was the sleeve and part of the front and back, You knit this sewater from one side to the other side. And I am now on the last part of the other sleeve. The plan is to use up all of the scrap yarn that I have in that certain guage, which is kind of a shame since I had a bunch of hat requests after I did it, lol.
